    Chef Angus An is Canada’s most celebrated Thai Chef. After graduating from New York’s International Culinary Centre, he received his tutelage under luminary Jacques Pépin. Following a stint at Montreal’s Toqué!, his drive took him to Michelin-starred The Fat Duck, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, The Ledbury and Nahm (the first Thai restaurant in the world to receive a coveted Michelin star). Twice he was invited to cook at James Beard House; an undeniable affirmation of his culinary prowess.
    In 2016, capping eight years as Vancouver’s best Thai restaurant, Maenam took top honours at the Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards, being the first Asian restaurant to win the title, “Restaurant of the Year”.
    His casual eateries offer Thai street food at Longtail Kitchen; soupy goodness at Fat Mao Noodles, Hainanese & Thai-spiced rotisserie birds at Freebird Chicken Shack and fun, fresh and tasty food at Popina Canteen.
